About Kai
Born and raised on Oahu, I've been connected to the ocean my entire life. My passion for marine biology started as a kid snorkeling in Hanauma Bay, watching the colorful fish dance among the coral. Now, I'm a PhD researcher at the University of Hawaii, specializing in coral reef restoration and sea turtle conservation.
When I'm not underwater collecting data or in the lab analyzing samples, you'll find me surfing at sunrise, hiking Diamond Head, or sharing my love for the ocean through educational programs with local schools. I believe in living pono (righteously) and protecting the 'aina (land) for future generations.
